Amy and Jenny at the Good Mule Conference 2011

Once again I had the privilege of shooting the Good Mule’s student conference.  I had a great time and captured some incredible moments.

No matter what type of shoot I do I always have a favorite image. It might not be the best image of the shoot or even make the cut for client delivery but I always have a favorite. This image is my favorite from the College of Business shoot this past week. The lines in the tile, soft focus and muted colors all combine to become something more than the sum of its parts.

Shot in the new College of Business building

The new College of Business (COB) building is gorgeous. I recently had the pleasure of shooting several students in and around the building for the COB. They were fantastic models and I would be happy to work with them again.

The image above links to a gallery with more images from the shoot.

Serendipity:

n., pl., -ties.

  1. The faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident.
  2. The fact or occurrence of such discoveries.
  3. An instance of making such a discovery.

I never expected to find this peaceful little spot, were it not for Alicia at the UW Foundation I never would have. I was hired to shoot a dedication for the UW Foundation house last week. I arrived early as I normally do for a job and this bench was just sitting there waiting for me. After a few moments of watching the light and shadow slow-dance across the grass I was able to press the shutter and capture this moment.

Ani DiFranco

Paranoia is frustrating. That is to say, the paranoia of artists and their tour managers. I shot Ani DiFranco at the Arts and Sciences Auditorium in Laramie Wyoming this past week. Unfortunately, I was denied my usual position shooting from the orchestra pit, “Ani does not like camera’s” they said. So far Ani DiFranco has been the most restrictive artists I have photographed. Even Bobby McFerrin was more accommodating. Have you seen a good picture of her? I didn’t think so.
