Shock Therapy

One of the many tools used by my therapists is electricity, not to power the lights or the machines, but to directly shock me. Shown to the left is a direct current tool that uses wet sponges to conduct electricity through my muscles in order to stimulate them. After a typical 30 minute session of being shocked my muscles are fatigued as though I had just undergone an intense workout instead of laying on the table.

In related news I am making rapid progress. I have started using my crutches more each day than I use the wheelchair. In the past week I have been walking in the pool unassisted, this causes a lot of pain in my back as the muscles there are stressed more than they have been all summer. I have also started driving again and getting around on my own. My next doctors appointment in two weeks should be my last with my Arkansas orthopedic doctor. I will probably enter into an in-patient rehab program soon after.
